Valencia, CA – 21 January 2015 - Applied Companies announced today that the U.S. Army's Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training, & Instrumentation (PEO STRI) located in Orlando, FL awarded a $6,003,389.00 contract to Applied Companies. The Total Small Business Set-Aside contract is for the HVAC Up-Grade Program of the fleet of Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Trainers (AVCATT).
The AVCATT is actually a suite of two 52 foot trailer bodies outfitted in digital theater and controller setting. Army rotary wing Aviators fly simulated missions in the trainer. The HVAC system is critical to service the huge thermal loads that come from the racks of digital servers. Consequently the two 10 Ton HVAC Systems per trailer are most important to the efficient operation of the digital systems and the training scenarios the Aviators go through. The PEO STRI award was issued under contract number W900KK-15-C-0012.
"The AVCATT Program means so much to Applied Companies in many ways. As an example, two of our Management Team members are Rotary Wing Veterans." Mentioned Jack Thousand, Senior VP. "And they take a vested interest in producing all products, like the AVCATT ECU, that will well serve their 'Brothers in Arms'. Patriotism runs deep at Applied Companies." Thousand added.
This year Applied Companies celebrates 57 years of continuous operations. Applied is a privately held Woman Owned Small Business with core focus on HVAC and Power Generation for the Defense and Aerospace Industries.
