PROGRAM MANAGER
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time

JOB SUMMARY
As a Program Manager (PM) at Applied Companies, you will be responsible for managing multiple programs for both Government and commercial customers in a fast-paced design and manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for analyzing customer requirements, cost, schedule, technical/performance, risk, and execution of active programs. The PM will establish, and is accountable to maintain, a collaborative working relationship with customer program managers to ensure that the highest level of responsiveness and customer service needs are met. Internally, the Program Manager will coordinate with other departments (sales, engineering, supply chain, manufacturing, operations, quality, etc.) to execute on program requirements in an efficient and effective manner.

SPECIFIC JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage multiple programs to ensure compliance to customer requirements while maintaining strict adherence to cost and schedule performance goals. Role requires hands-on program financial control experience.
  • Analyze customer requirements including proposal, specifications. statements of work, and terms & conditions to identify opportunities and risks throughout the life of assigned programs (proposal to post-delivery support).
  • Closely coordinate with Directors of Engineering and Operations to ensure all assigned programs are executed to plan.
  • Represent company as primary point of customer contact for all assigned programs.
  • Manage, prepare and execute internal and external design reviews.
  • Coordinate, generate, prepare and submit data deliverables (CDRLs/SDRLs) to customer.
  • Collect, track, analyze and report on cost, schedule, and technical metrics to assess program health.
  • Coordinate and monitor invoicing of assigned programs.
  • Support proposal review and development and manage follow-on business opportunities for all assigned programs, products and customers.
  • Participate as a major contributor to the improvement of program management and program financial control improvement process.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS
The Program Manager reports directly to the Vice President of Business Development. The Program Manager must also closely communicate/coordinate with the Engineering, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Operations, and Quality departments.

REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S. Mechanical, Electrical, Aeronautical, or Refrigeration Systems Engineering degree or equivalent technical degree.
  • A minimum of 5 years of recent program management with experience in Aerospace manufacturing and a technical aptitude.
  • Engineering background with knowledge in military/tactical applications.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple programs of short duration (4 to 12 months) within established cost and schedule goals.
  • Ability to foster and maintain positive relationships within the Company’s own departments and throughout our valued Customer organizations.
  • Effectively prioritize multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.
  • High degree of business management acumen.
  • Effective verbal (phone and face-to-face) and written communication skills.
  • Fluent with Microsoft Project and resources planning/allocation techniques.
  • Expert user with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
  • Self-starter with demonstrated desire to go the extra mile.

JOB SUMMARY
As a Contracts Manager at Applied Companies, you will be responsible for overseeing the contract management activities and processes ensuring all activities are executed in strict compliance with company policies. You will support a varied contract portfolio of government and commercial proposals and contracts and will serve as the primary customer interface for business and contracting matters. The selected candidate must be able to represent Applied Companies independently on significant transactions and advise management on contractual rights and obligations and mitigate contractual/program risks. The Contracts Manager is also responsible for establishing rapport with clients and works closely with the Sales, Strategy, and Marketing teams to lead new contract negotiations in addition to sustaining existing relationships with external and internal customers.

SPECIFIC JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Work closely with the Sales, Strategy, and Marketing teams. Lead the contract negotiation, contract review and administration of commercial, international, and government contracts for new and sustaining/existing products.
  • Work closely with the Program Managers to recognize and assert changes in scope and constructive changes that are not covered by the contract. Assert and submit requests for equitable adjustments to the customer within the appropriate time limits.
  • Lead contract negotiation, contract administration, and customer contract activities in accordance with company policies and procedures, legal requirements, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
  • Monitor customer’s and Company’s performance against a contract, including identifying any scheduled milestones or triggers and any issues (e.g., breaches, rebates, terminations, etc.) with in-force contracts.
  • Responsible for contract management including contract review, developing the compliance matrix, negotiation, maintenance, order acknowledgement, order administration and terms and conditions review in accordance with Company’s contract policies.
  • Proactively manage and monitor long term contracts and agreements.
  • Ensure appropriate internal approvals and signature authorities are followed in the contract review and approval process.
  • Ensure compliance with contracting policies, laws, and regulations, including but not limited to FAR’s, DFAR’s, CAS, EAR and ITAR.
  • Verify that appropriate and complete customer documentation and authorizations have been received by company prior to authorizing and directing work to proceed.
  • Coordinate flow-down of terms and conditions with all functional departments including program management, engineering, product support, finance, quality, supply chain management, manufacturing, as required.
  • Provide program status and other reports; advises management of contractual rights and obligations; provide solutions to contractual issues, compiles and analyzes data; and maintains historical information.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS
The Contracts Manager reports directly to the Vice President. This role works closely with the Sales, Program Management, Finance, and Operations Departments.

REQUIREMENTS

  • B.S. Business or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5 -7 years of experience in Contracts Administration, military, or related manufacturing industry. Support of military and commercial prime and sub-contracts.
  • Expert at negotiating contract terms and conditions.
  • Experience with the handling of solicitations and requests for proposal.
  • Organizational skills are a must, capable of handling a heavy workload with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast paced and challenging working environment.
  • Experienced working with MRP/ERP sales order systems.
  • Excellent customer relationship management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Always adheres to professional conduct.
  • Complete understanding and application of contract principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
  • US citizen or permanent resident (Green Card holders) due to Government ITAR regulations.

DESIRABLE

  • International contracting experience.
  • Contracts Management Certificate or related contracting courses in government, commercial and international contracting, trade compliance, ITAR/EAR, leadership, management, and program management.
  • Experience in defense or military aerospace contracting, TINA (Truth in Negotiation Acts), FAR, DFAR, and CAS Management.

SALARY RANGE
$95,000 – $110,000 per year

JOB SUMMARY

At Applied Companies, we are committed to satisfying our customers’ needs and expectations by providing reliable products and outstanding service.  As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for the development of requirement-compliant designs in a DoD contracting environment.  Design activities for this position focus on the development of unique electrical control designs, performing system load requirement analysis, component selection, control systems and packaging.  This position is also responsible for the documentation of designs and generation of CDRLs/SDRLs using DoD guidelines.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop electrical schematics and update those schematics through design, fabrication, and testing.
  • Selection and programming of control solutions for HVAC units using mechanical devices as well as PLC controllers.
  • Program Environmental Control Unit (ECU) operations (heating, cooling, PID controls, fault conditions, etc.) using ladder logic.
  • Create high quality Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and/or Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) that allow for intuitive system control with multiple menus and submenus.
  • Develop manual text and graphic based control interfaces, with the capability for remote monitoring and control via the network.
  • Responsible for the design and fabrication oversight of multiple concurrent developmental efforts.
  • Contribute to R&D efforts through a broad understanding of current state of the art electrical advances and an eye to emerging technologies.
  • Responsible for the specification of electrical components, layout, and manufacturing approaches.
  • Support design, manufacturing, test, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
  • Compose operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Generate Software Interface Control Documents for ethernet or serial interfaces to customer machinery via industrial communications protocols and/or custom communications scripts.
  • Draw system I/O diagrams for large distributed control systems with multi-input, multi-output steps.
  • Electrical diagram creation using a combination of point to point and ladder techniques as required.
  • Utilize 2D CAD programs such as AutoCAD or DraftSight to develop control system schematics for automated equipment.
  • Test/debug equipment along with all integrated devices to ensure proper functionality.
  • Install and test programs in a manufacturing/assembly environment.
  • Complete engineering change notices, redlines, and software updates.
  • Review customer specifications to determine and identify program requirements.
  • Provide technical documentation including but not limited to ATPs, FATPs, System Requirements, Control Strategies, Software ICDs, etc.
  • Implementing and having testing knowledge in Military or NIST standards for software development, cybersecurity, EMI/EMC and environmental ratings.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS
The Electrical Engineer reports directly to the Operations Manager and works hand in hand with the Chief Engineer, Technicians, and the Engineering department.  They are also expected to work/collaborate with the Manufacturing, Purchasing, Program Management, and Business Development departments.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of directly related work experience.
  • Proficient in software programming languages such as C, VBA, Java, MATLAB, Python, Ladder Logic, etc.
  • Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controllers or similar off the shelf devices.
  • Understanding of engineering concepts and procedures and a familiarity with electrical circuits and devices.
  • Proficient in 2D CAD programs such as AutoCAD or DraftSight.
  • Theoretical understanding of PID (proportional-integral-derivative) control algorithms.
  • Self-starter who’s not afraid to deep dive into unfamiliar areas and learn quickly in order to be efficient.
  • Impeccable attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and people skills.
  • US citizen or permanent resident (Green Card holders) due to Government ITAR regulations.

DESIRABLE

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
  • Experience with webpage development for control and monitoring.  SCADA experience applicable.
  • Knowledge with industrial control systems hardware including relays, contactors, disconnects, circuit breakers, push buttons, toggle switches, indicator lights, etc.
  • Experience implementing FDs and EC motor controls.
  • Understanding of NFPA 70 and UL508 electrical standards, wire sizing, contactor sizing, NEMA ratings, IP ratings, etc.

TRAVEL:  Some travel may be required.

SALARY RANGE: $70,000 – $90,000 a year, DOE

  • Install, repair, service, and maintain HVAC systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and effectively according to job specifications.
  • Proficient at brazing for system installation and repair.
  • Conduct thorough diagnostics to identify issues and provide efficient solutions.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure the optimal functioning of HVAC equipment.
  • Collaborate with the engineering and quality teams to ensure all systems meet industry standards and customer requirements.
  • Keep accurate records of all service and maintenance tasks, including parts used and work performed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or equivalent. HVAC certification or related technical training desired.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience working as an HVAC technician.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and functions.
  • EPA Universal certification
  • Experience working on equipment with Military or Aerospace applications and workmanship requirements.
  • Familiarity and understanding of manufacturing drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Able to follow written Manufacturing Outlines, policies, and procedures as required.
  • Ability to support requirements in a manufacturing environment requiring quick turnarounds.

KEY RELATIONSHIPS
The HVAC Technician reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager.  Technicians are expected to work and coordinate with the Manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering departments.

SALARY RANGE: $23.00 – $30.00 an hour
